FutureCoast Hotline

During the Fourth Chronofall (Feb-Apr 2014) FutureCoast players created the voicemails from possible futures that you hear at FutureCoast dot org.

During our active period, anyone could express their ideas about possible futures simply by calling the Hotline and leaving a message.

The FutureCoast Hotline is now closed.

FutureCoast also set up local numbers in the UK, in France, and in Alaska.

DID YOU CREATE A VOICEMAIL?

Thanks for your contribution!

When you recorded a voicemail on the hotline, you added to the collection of voicemails from the cloud of possible futures on FutureCoast.org.

You participated in a work of collaborative fiction – that means you're one of hundreds of storytellers giving voice to futures that we want to explore.

For more on how your voicemail was used, please read the fine print.

VOICEMAIL CREATION TIPS

LISTEN

Listen to some voicemails from the future

  • Which ones speak to you?
  • What makes them sound authentically from the future?
  • Is there one that you want to respond to?

CREATE YOUR CHARACTER

Think about:

  • Who are you calling?
  • Where are you calling from?
  • Why are you calling?
  • What is the future world like?

CONSIDER

  • Has climate change affected the future that you're calling from?
  • Does your caller notice the changes? Or are they only changes that someone in our present would recognize?
  • Want to jumpstart your future imagination?

Get some inspiration from the voicemail resources below. You'll find ideas and information about current trends in climate, from the people who study them.
